10 Places To Get Great Tacos In Jacksonville

10 Places To Get Great Tacos In Jacksonville

The Mexican food in Jacksonville is so good, we need to taco ‘bout it. When Tuesday rolls around and you need to get your taco fix, there are numerous options to choose from. It can get a little overwhelming so we narrowed it down to a handful of awesome spots that will not disappoint. Here are ten places to get great tacos in Jacksonville, Florida.

10. Olio

A post shared by Olio (@oliomarket) on Feb 3, 2016 at 10:00am PST

The fish tacos at Olio are famous for a reason. They’re made with blackened tilapia, mandarin salsa, shredded cabbage, and cilantro-lime cream on soft flour tortillas. You’ll have weekly cravings for these bad boys, trust us.

9. Lola’s Burrito & Burger Joint

Sometimes all you want for brunch is to get your taco on. Lola’s Burrito & Burger Joint can help you with just that, their breakfast taco plate consists of three tacos with scrambled eggs and a Latin cheese blend with applewood smoked bacon.

8. Mr. Taco

A post shared by M E L I S A (@melly.c.k) on Apr 21, 2017 at 5:44pm PDT

It doesn’t get much more authentic than Mr. Taco. You can choose between chorizo, smoked chicken, veggie, fish, shrimp, and bean, among others. Be sure to get an aqua fresca with your order. Is your mouth watering yet?

7. Jimmy Hula’s

A post shared by Jimmy Hula’s (@jimmyhulas) on Mar 17, 2017 at 6:25am PDT

The selection at Jimmy Hula’s is incomparable. They have a taco for every taste bud. The ‘Wipeout’ is made with steak, shrimp, fries, jack cheese, avocado, and baja sauce. The ‘Tree Hugger’, on the other hand, boasts mushrooms, zucchini, onion, black beans, cotija, and crema.

6. Corner Taco

A post shared by Chris Dickerson (@cornertaco) on Apr 6, 2017 at 2:11pm PDT

Corner Taco pride themselves on their “semi-swanky street food”. Their tacos are definitely on another level, think dijon buttermilk fried chicken, and local tempeh with sweet chili and lemon. Don’t miss out on their house made sriracha or their cheap craft beers.

5. Burrito Gallery

The tacos, along with the prices, at Burrito Gallery will have you coming back to this hip place again and again. With options like Cajun mahi, curry chicken, teriyaki tofu, grilled veggies, or carnitas, you really can’t go wrong.

4. Pepe’s Hacienda

A post shared by Pepes Hacienda (@pepeshacienda) on Oct 23, 2015 at 7:59pm PDT

Pepe’s Hacienda does traditional and fresh Mexican the right way. Their entire menu is noteworthy and delicious, but their tacos stand out against the rest. You can choose from flour or corn taco shells, and the options for yummy fillings are seemingly endless.

3. Mossfire Grill

A post shared by Mossfire Grill (@mossfiregrill) on Dec 14, 2016 at 8:16am PST

Mossfire Grill blends together new American and southwest cuisine like it’s nobody’s business, serving up killer tacos for lunch and dinner. Their ‘Ranch Burger Taco’ features ranch seasoned ground beef served in a crunchy blue corn tortilla. The ‘Pacific Rim Tuna Taco’ is made with togarashi seared yellowfin tuna.

2. Hightide Burrito Co.

Hightide Burrito Co. is a traditional Mexican joint that puts a tasty twist on their eclectic menu items. Their street tacos are made with hand-pressed corn tortillas. And their beloved breakfast tacos boast Mexican chorizo.

A post shared by Tijuana Flats (@tijuanaflats) on Aug 17, 2016 at 7:53am PDT

With several locations across Jacksonville, Tijuana Flats is a fan favorite and a guaranteed crowd pleaser. Their moniker alone is reason enough to dine here; “We don’t serve you garbage and we never treat you like trash”. But if that’s not enough to convince you, their tacos are seriously amazing.

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty Hosts Free Community Shredding Event and Food Drive

Shred Sensitive Documents and Feed the Community

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty will be hosting a free Shredding Event and Food Drive on Saturday, April 22, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the company’s Mandarin/St. Johns branch office located at 11576 San Jose Blvd. in Jacksonville.

Community members are encouraged to bring their personal documents and sensitive materials, which will be securely shredded during the event. Families may bring up to 10 boxes or bags of materials to be destroyed.

Shredding provides a safe and effective way to completely dispose of personal documents and can help prevent identity theft and fraud. According to the Better Business Bureau, more than half of identity theft victims have traced the theft to something that was stolen from their own possession.

“In our business, we have seen first-hand what can happen when people don’t dispose of personal information properly,” said Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty Founder, President and CEO Linda Sherrer. “Identity theft and fraud are real problems that can be avoided if you securely dispose of sensitive and personal documents. We want to protect our clients and the community as a whole from the risk of identity fraud.”

During the event, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices is collecting donations of nonperishable food items. The company is requesting participants bring one food item for every box or bag of materials to be shredded. All food donations will go to the local food bank, Feeding Northeast Florida.

“Events like this are in keeping with our company culture,” said Broker/Executive Vice President Christy Budnick. “We are grateful to be able to give back and offer these important services to the communities we serve.”

Mandarin Real Estate

The Mandarin area has become one of the fastest-growing communities in Northeast Florida. Located south of San Marco, Mandarin boasts miles of waterfront along the St. Johns River, quiet neighborhoods framed by magnificent Live Oak trees, beautiful parks and rich history.

The popular area offers something for everyone including riverfront and equestrian estates, gated communities, subdivisions, condominiums, townhomes, and starter homes. Also, Mandarin is one of the few places in Jacksonville where acreage is available. Mandarin’s home prices are just as diverse as the style of available homes, ranging from the $100,000s to the millions.

Homebuyers also enjoy numerous shopping and dining choices, proximity to top-rated public and private schools, many recreational opportunities and easy access to all parts of the Northeast Florida region including downtown and the beaches.

“The Mandarin area offers residents an incredible way of life. There is such a strong sense of community and so many things to do,” said Christine Scalf, broker/manager of the Mandarin/St. Johns office. “With so much to offer, the demand for homes in Mandarin is strong. We continue to see increasing interest from buyers who are drawn to Mandarin’s wide array of homes, family oriented quality of life, historic appeal and school choices.”

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty’s full service branch office, which is located on San Jose Boulevard north of Loretta Road, is home to the area’s most successful real estate agents who work hard to deliver an exceptional client experience and the most positive real estate results.

Born at the Naval Hospital In Memphis Tennessee and have lived in more than 30 different homes from California, to Rhode Island, Washington DC, New Orleans and Jacksonville in my lifetime.

What brought you to real estate?

I am a licensed teacher in Florida and a published children’s author but always thought I would enjoy real estate. I guess because I’ve lived in so many houses.

What actress/actor would play you in movie

I’m not much of a movie buff so when I think of actors and actresses not a single one came to mind. I googled and got Johnny Depp and realized I do like him.

What is your favorite local restaurant?

Favorite local restaurant is Santioni’s Lacucina which is conveniently located a few doors from the office. My family is convinced that’s why I wanted to be at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty Fleming Island.

Thing you’re most excited about this year.

I am most excited about the training and technology resources and support I have here at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty. I came from another brokerage and never realized this level of support and training was available in the industry. I look forward to learning all I can.

REALTOR® Spotlight: Q&A with Jennifer Cook

Jennifer Cook Q&A

Where are you from?
I was born and raised in the Avondale neighborhood of Jacksonville, but have been coming to St. Augustine for weekends and vacations for as long as I can remember. After graduating college, I lived in Chicago for about 7 years before moving home to St. Augustine for good in 2013.

What brought you to real estate?
My career began in Advertising and Market Research, in client service and project management roles for some of the world’s largest brands…When I moved to St. Augustine, I wanted to do something that would leverage my professional background, yet give me the freedom to be out in about in the community that I love so much. Real Estate is the perfect fit!

What actress/actor would play you in movie
Claire Danes has always been one of my favorite actresses. I love how she can effortlessly transition from silly and carefree to intelligent and poignant.

What is your favorite local restaurant?
There are so many fabulous restaurants in St. Augustine! I would have to say that Collage is at the top of my favorites list! I was just drooling over a photo of their Cappuccino Semifreddo with Homemade Doughnuts.

Thing you’re most excited about this year.
The most exciting part of my life is watching my two daughters, Noelle (4 yo) and Anna (2 yo) grow and learn new things. In Real Estate, I am most excited about the new communities that we have opening throughout St. Johns County. There are some really beautiful homes that are ready for new families!
