Jacksonville has a very large craft brew following, people in the city are proud to support their local breweries. By buying beer that has been brewed locally, you’re strengthening and substantiating your community. The next time you are your friends are in the mood for a cold one, here are five breweries in Jacksonville that are worth checking out.  

5. Wicked Barley Brewing Company  

The owners of Wicked Barley Brewing Company wanted to do things a little differently when they opened their doors in 2014, and they’ve succeeded. Their Wicked Barley brews stand out from the crowd, their food menu is responsibly sourced, and they rotate some of the best craft beers from around the country so there’s always something new to try.

4. Bold City Brewery

Locally owned and operated Bold City Brewery is a family business that is proud to call Jacksonville home. Their beer styles range from Indian pale ales to pumpkin ales, Belgian ales to cream ales. The brewery also offers events almost daily, from trivia nights to yoga classes, there’s always something fun going on at Bold City.

 

3. Intuition Ale Works

Intuition Ale Works, located Downtown, specializes in small-batch handcrafted ales. Their five famous brews are distributed throughout the state; People’s Pale Ale, Jon Boat Coast Ale, I-10 IPA, King Street Stout, and Easy on the Eyes. Stop by their taproom and pay their beer tenders a visit, there’s also free tours being offered every hour on the hour!

2. River City Brewing Company

The brew house at River City Brewing Company is beloved by locals due to their good food and great beers. Made using traditional brewing methods, the RCBC brews include Jag Light, Jackson Pale Ale, Red Rooster Ale, Kentucky Bourbon Ale, Acosta IPA, Downtown Maple Nut Brown, and Winter Breeze.

When it comes to breweries, it doesn’t get much better than Aardwolf Brewing Company. The taproom’s atmosphere is only outdone by the beers themselves. The brews feature unique tastes and names, including Bring Your Own Bob, Ermah-Gourd, and Notorious F.I.G.
