8 Must-Do Family Activities in Jacksonville This Spring

Spring is a time for new beginnings, so it’s fitting that there are so many new things to do with your family in Jacksonville once winter ends. It’s time to get outside with your loved ones and have a good time, no matter how old you are. Here are eight must-do family activities that are happening in Jacksonville this spring.

8. Wild Wonders Nature Program

The Wild Wonders Nature Program takes place during the months of March, April, May, and June at the Dutton Island Preserve in Atlantic Beach. You and the family will be able to get up close and personal with some of your favorite animals, including turtles and snakes!

7. Science and History Boat Tours

Learn more about the city you call home while taking a leisurely boat cruise with the Science and History Boat Tours, happening every Saturday, brought to you by the Museum of Science and History. You can buy your tickets in-person at the museum or online.

6. Nature Connects: Art with LEGO Bricks

The Nature Connects: Art with LEGO Bricks is free with zoo admission at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. This fun for the whole family exhibition boasts over a dozen LEGO sculptures that are made with over 300,000 bricks!

5. Family Seining

Take the family out on a free seining adventure at the GTM Research Reserve. You’ll have a blast pulling a seine net through Guana Lake, where you’ll be able to witness first hand many different species of fish and crustaceans while learning more about all underwater life.

4. Celestial Farms Open House

At the Celestial Farms Open House, you’ll be able to take in many mini classes on interesting topics like first-aid, cheese making, gardening, and soap making. Not to mention the animal meet-and-greets and the rides and fun activities put on for people of all ages.

3. Bugs Bunny at the Symphony

Bring your kids to a show you’ll enjoy as well, and one that will make you feel like you’re their age again. Bugs Bunny at the Symphony is presented by Warner Bros. Studio and it stars all of your favorite childhood characters, including Bugs Bunny, Elmer Fudd, and Daffy Duck.

2. Karate America

If you’re looking for something different to do this spring, look no further than Karate America. Regardless of your age you’ll be able to learn self-defence and inner-strength. You and your family will be building your confidence and your overall health while having a great time.

1. Family Bicycle Ride

The Riverside Arts Makers Family Bicycle Ride is a great way to get outdoors with your family. You’ll bike for about ten miles, stopping along the way for refreshments and snacks. At the end of the ride, you’ll end up at the Arts Market to enjoy some local produce and freshly baked bread. It’s fun for the whole family!
